Chocolate Ganesha: Celebrating festivities with a delicious twist!

Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most anticipated & awaited Hindu annual festivals, a ceremonial honouring of Lord Ganesha. The eldest son of Goddess Durga and Lord Shiva, he is also known as Ganapati or Vinayak. He is idolized as the God of intellect; he is the one with the tusk, Ekdanta, and face of an elephant, Gajanana.

As per the Hindu calendar, this festival is celebrated on the Chaturthi of Shukla Paksha in Bhadrapada month. Prayer offerings, embellishments, rituals, and sweets, with various public performances during a span of 10 days. Finally, idol immersion or the visharjan takes place.

The entire duration from bringing home the idol to the visarjana is filled with people visiting each other, offerings various delicacies to Lord Ganesha and his devotees and seeking blessings in return. In a way, Ganesh Chaturthi is all about sharing love, happiness, and, of course, all kinds of sweets & delicacies as prasadam.

What is particularly special about this festival is that is resembles the significance of the cycle of life and death. Every year, people lovingly bring home idols of Ganesha and do the visarjana in a local pond or at the sea.

Although this entire process does generate a lot of environmental waste.
